Frequently asked questions
For some, the idea of practicing yoga can sound unapproachable or intimidating, as though you need to have a certain level of flexibility or strength to begin. In truth, our practice is inclusive of all, designed to meet you exactly where you are in the present moment.
Do i need previous yoga experience?
No, Ford Yoga is designed for everyone, regardless of experience level. Whether you’re stepping onto a yoga mat for the first time or have been practicing for years, you are welcome here. Ford Yoga offers a variety of classes, from slow and meditative to dynamic and strength-building, ensuring there’s a practice for every body and every goal.
I have limited flexibility. can i still do yoga?
Yes! Flexibility is not a prerequisite for practicing yoga — it’s something that yoga will help develop over time. Ford Yoga is designed to meet you where you are, focusing on movement, breath, and strength in a way that works for your body as it is in the present moment.
What should I bring to Class?
A yoga mat (if you don’t have one, rental mats are available); comfortable, breathable clothing; a water bottle; an open mind and a willingness to listen to your body.
I’m recovering from an injury. Can I still practice yoga?
Yes. Ford Yoga offers gentle, restorative classes designed to help the body heal while maintaining mobility. Our Restorative and Connection classes are excellent options for those recovering from injuries or looking for a mindful, low-impact practice. That being said, we always advise that youp consult with a medical professional before making your final decision.
I’m looking for a workout. Will Ford Yoga help me build strength?
Absolutely! Ford Yoga offers powerful, strength-based classes that challenge the body while improving mobility and endurance. Awakening and Balance classes are designed to build muscle, enhance core stability, and improve overall athletic performance. Whether you’re an athlete cross-training or someone looking for an alternative to the gym, Ford Yoga provides a strong, effective way to build strength and flexibility simultaneously.
What should I expect at my first class?
Expect a welcoming, non-intimidating environment where you can move at your own pace. Each class begins with grounding breathwork, followed by movement that aligns with the energy and focus of that particular session. Whether you’re attending a powerful, athletic practice or a slow, meditative class, the focus is always on moving in a way that feels right for you.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows for movement. Leggings, sweatpants, or athletic wear are great options – wear what makes you feel good.

Ford Yoga is not about rigidity and strict adherence to the perfect pose — it’s about exploring movement in a way that supports your unique body. Modifications and alternatives are always provided, and every movement can be adapted to your needs.

Not at all! Ford Yoga is for every body, regardless of size, age, or fitness level. The wide variety of classes means that whether you’re looking for an intense workout or deep relaxation, there’s a place for you.
